SAS Insurance Circle

SAS Insurance Circle: Online exchange of experiences for insurance experts

Artificial intelligence applied:
Automation of decisions in the insurance industry

At the SAS Insurance Circle, you can expect a practical exchange of experiences about best practices, stumbling blocks and approaches to solutions with your colleagues from other insurance companies in 60-minute video conferences.

Most insurance companies are in a process of change towards data-driven organisation. Even though data has always been the basis of the insurance business, new challenges are coming to insurers with information flows from business processes. These should be bundled centrally and decisions should be made objectively and ideally automatically. In particular, a uniform, cross-divisional view of customers and their customer journeys is becoming increasingly important:

For example, to understand where concrete needs, potentials or risks exist, which action alternatives are to be prioritised in which situations or to weigh up offer options against each other in a fraction of a second. This not only benefits the sales organisation. Areas such as claims processing and fraud prevention also benefit from fully or partially automated decision-making processes – from the claim handler and the actuary to the company’s own or independent consultants on site.

– Alexei Freund, Data Architecture Senior Manager Applied Intelligence Practice, Accenture
– Felix Kugelmann, Principal Advisor Insurance Innovation DACH, SAS

You are also welcome to contribute your topics, questions and opinions. This gives you the chance to find out how your colleagues from other insurance companies are meeting the challenges you are currently facing.
