Due to increasing UV exposure, the incidence of skin cancer has been rising continuously for decades. According to the Robert Koch Institute, the figures will continue to rise over the next 10 years. On the other hand, however, there are not more dermatologists, which leads to long waiting times, for example for skin cancer screening. In Germany, not even 50 % of those entitled to it make use of it. This is where SkinScreener comes into play, allowing laypeople to obtain a risk assessment for questionable skin lesions.<\/p>\n

An innovative AI solution for the early detection of skin cancer<\/b><\/p>\n

SkinScreener is an AI solution for the early detection of skin cancer. Using an app, or interface solution, users can take a photo of conspicuous skin lesions and receive a risk assessment for skin cancer within a few seconds. The simple smartphone application can be used to motivate people with possible skin cancer to visit a dermatologist. SkinScreener can also be used for self-examinations between screening appointments.<\/p>\n

Successful market launch through partnership with SCOR<\/b><\/p>\n

SkinScreener was able to take a major step in the German market by participating in the InsurLab Germany cooperation program: By participating, SkinScreener was able to gain SCOR, a globally active reinsurer, as a partner. Following a successful internal pilot project, use cases were jointly developed in order to offer primary insurance companies SkinScreener for their policyholders in combination with a correspondingly interesting reinsurance option with SCOR.<\/p>\n

Future prospects through cooperation in the insurance sector<\/b><\/p>\n

The collaboration between SCOR and medaia aims to make SkinScreener available to as many policyholders as possible in order to detect and treat skin cancer earlier.<\/p>\n
