Digital transformation in the insurance sector requires technological excellence, industry expertise and the courage to break new ground. Tallence AG has over 25 years of experience in complex IT and transformation projects - and recently became a member of InsurLab Germany. In this interview, Lisa Heinz (Head of Digital Experience) and Marc Seidemann (Chief Data Officer) talk about their motivation, the key topics for 2025 and the role of Tallence as an enabler for digital insurers.

Welcome to InsurLab Germany: Could you please briefly introduce Tallence to our community?

Marc Seidemann, Chief Data Officer

Marc Seidemann, Chief Data Officer at Tallence

Marc Seidemann:
Tallence AG is an IT and consulting company headquartered in Hamburg. We have been supporting companies in the digital transformation of complex business processes for over 25 years. In the insurance environment, we see ourselves as a reliable partner at eye level - from agile InsurTech to established insurers with critical infrastructure.

Our interdisciplinary teams from technology, strategy, design and development help insurers to transform their IT landscapes sustainably. We combine topics such as integration, migration, legacy modernization, cloud platforms, business process management, identity & access management and AI-supported solutions to create future-proof IT architectures that create measurable added value along the digital customer journey.

How did you come to join InsurLab and why did you decide to become a member?

Lisa Heinz:
InsurLab Germany is one of the central platforms for us to bring insurers, start-ups and technology partners together. We don't want to drive innovation on our own, but to make faster progress together with the community.

We are also a member of BITKOM, Germany's largest digital association. This underlines our aspiration to shape digitalization across all industries and with technological excellence. We want to bring this knowledge to the insurance community in a targeted manner - and at the same time learn from the specific challenges of the industry. Because our goal is always to create the ideal digital solution in terms of maximum added value for our customers.

What topics and content are important to you? How do you feel about our 2025 focus topics „Operational excellence and business process management“ and „AI scaling and application“?

Marc Seidemann:
This fits in perfectly with our service portfolio. For us, business process management (BPM) is a key to achieving operational excellence. We help insurers not only to digitize processes, but to fundamentally optimize them - with a view to efficiency, compliance and scalability.

When we talk about operational excellence and business process management, we see this as the key to making insurers fit for the future. Our aim is not just to digitize processes, but to rethink them - in a scalable, efficient and customer-oriented way. We take the same approach when it comes to AI: we focus on practical, secure and compliance-compliant use that brings insurers real added value along their value chain.

Which of our activities are you planning to get involved in? What impetus would you like to bring to the InsurLab network - and what do you hope to get in return?

Lisa Heinz:
We want to play an active role in working groups and innovation projects, particularly in the areas of process automation, data strategies and AI applications. We see our role as combining technological expertise with practical implementation experience.

Our impetus comes from the experience of having designed future-proof IT architectures in various industries - whether in telecommunications, the financial sector or the mobility industry. We would like to bring this cross-industry expertise to the InsurLab network. At the same time, we are looking forward to an intensive exchange with insurers in order to jointly develop digital solutions that create real added value.

By becoming a member of InsurLab Germany, Tallence AG is underlining its claim to be a leading digitalization partner for insurance companies. With expertise in integration, migration, legacy modernization, BPM, cloud and AI, Tallence is actively shaping the future of the insurance industry.
