Cologne, 10.04.2018 - Today's kick-off event at the InsurLab Germany Campus in Cologne marked the start of the first round of the InsurLab Germany Accelerator program. Five InsurTech startups from four countries will be funded by the initiative for the next six months to further develop their products and offerings and make them to be successfully launched on the German market. In addition to individual mentors, the selected startups can expect workshops, investor meetings, expert contact persons from the member companies and free workplaces on the InsurLab Germany Campus in Cologne.
KASKO, Motion-S, PolyWizz, StilFresh and RightIndem have made it into the young industry initiative's intensive support program.
Get to know the startups
KASKO from England enables insurance companies to develop insurance products quickly and cost-effectively. The newly developed products can be integrated directly into existing IT systems and marketed via KASKO's Insurtech-as-a-Service platform. The startup Motion-S from Luxembourg offers a device-independent telematics solution. The platform connects smartphones with car sensors, processes driving data both in real time and retrospectively via existing data sets, and uses this to calculate the driver's current risk potential, among other things.
PolyWizz from Israel has developed an end-to-end solution that automatically creates and analyzes insurance profiles of customers after customer consent. As a result, PolyWizz helps sales teams make the right product choice for each customer. The fourth startup StilFresh is redefining the future of marine insurance. Their software helps international traders and their insurers reach carriers and freight forwarders directly and cost-effectively, improving and significantly accelerating subrogation outcomes in international trade.
The fifth startup to complete RightIndem the first round of the InsurLab Germany Accelerator. RightIndem is a self-service claims platform that aims to accelerate the claims process and set up a complete multi-channel claims process.
The focus is on the individual needs of startups
The InsurLab Germany Accelerator program focuses on the specific further development potential of the individual startups. The varied program of workshops, seminars, networking events and pitch events can be adapted by each startup to its own needs. Participating startups do not have to pay any money for this program, nor do they have to give up shares or rights in their companies. The networking of InsurTech startups and established insurance companies is clearly in the foreground. The goal is to develop concrete cooperation projects that help the InsurTech startup grow and the insurance company develop innovative products and services.
The constantly growing network of InsurLab Germany offers the startups direct access to over 50 companies from the insurance, technology and various consulting industries as well as various universities. In addition, they are linked with industry-savvy investors and experienced mentors from the top management of the member companies, who accompany them throughout the entire time.
The grand finale of the Accelerator will take place in October at a Demo Day in Cologne. There, the startups will present their development within the program as well as new products and projects to the public.
