As in the last two years before, we will be at EXECinsurTech again this year. Organizers report from their perspective on what participants can expect from this conference format and how they can get actively involved.
Who doesn't know it: leaving a conference early or at least being relieved when it ends sometime in the evening.
At this point, you and the organizers could have saved yourself the trouble of attending or hosting the conference in the first place. It's really always the same story when it comes to events that don't deliver what they promise. The content is generic and not focused on your needs. The speakers are there mainly because their names sell tickets, not because they provide you with lasting value. And the organizers often get lost in maximizing profits at the expense of event quality. I've put together some of the ways we deal with these challenges at EXEC to make your participation really worthwhile. Because your time, is the most valuable commodity we can ask for.
Let's start with the Location.
The right presentation is at least as important as the right content (more on this later). EXEC is all about casual and honest encounters. #FIRSTNAMEONLY
We do everything we can to make our events not an obligatory business meeting, but something you can look forward to. That's why we choose our venues to be something special. Something you won't experience every day. And a special experience requires the right setting. All this is important to get you out of your everyday life. In a positive way, of course. Only then will you be ready to take in all the new things and be open to meeting lots of new people.
Next, the reason we do all this in the first place: our participants.
All our participants are selected by us. We look at each application individually to ensure that all participants are a true fit for EXEC. We believe we have the right number of participants to still keep track of who is there, to minimize the risk of wasting your time on conversations that won't get you anywhere. Every conversation you have should be useful and honest. #NOBULLSHIT
We are especially proud that our speakers and experts are people like you and me. As mentioned earlier, they are selected based on expertise, not name. This makes them approachable, as they also want to benefit from your participation. They will stay on site after their sessions to answer open questions and connect with you. There is no backstage area. At EXEC, everyone is a VIP.
And finally, our content.
At EXEC, we focus on the quality of our content, not the quantity. We try to have just enough sessions to meet your needs for new insights without it becoming overwhelming. But the best part about the content is that it actually gets you something. Our content isn't about shortcuts to success, it's about connecting the right people. Our experts provide very specific content on things and topics that really matter in your day-to-day work. As mentioned before: we choose our experts by knowledge, not by name. Some topics in 2019 will be:
"Practical Application of Artificial Intelligence in Customer Service" by Fabian Beringer, Co-Founder e-bot7, "Can immutable logs create a new foundation for digital insurance?" by Stephan Noller, CEO of Ubirch or "How can insurtech startups and reinsurers work together to shape the insurance industry?" by Konstantin Von Jagow, Director Digital Partners at Munich Re Digital Partners. More about the agenda here.
We don't offer content you could have found online. We know your time is too valuable for that. And so is ours.
So I'd like to give you a brief overview of our formats and why we host them.
With our Masterclasses and Discussion Tables you sit in small groups. This is crucial as it encourages lively discussions and leaves enough room for questions. These formats are tailored to give participants a deep dive into very specific topics in order to gain new or further insights into the topics.
Our Keynotes, panels and fireside chats on stage provide interesting insights and opinions that you can discuss later. We strive to create content on stage that viewers can relate to.
And if you're not attending a session right now, you have many other opportunities to meet all kinds of people who can most likely add value to you. Our Business speed dating and the networking app talque will take care of that. And even if you don't host your own session, we want you to share your knowledge with others. We encourage everyone to play an active role in making EXECinsurtech an event that benefits everyone. We believe that everyone is an expert at something.
Our formats
The formats we offer are a mixture of feedback and our own insights gathered over the last five years. We don't have answers for everything. But that's why we ask you what you actually want as a participant.
So if you have something to share with us before this year's EXECinsurtech gets underway, please do so here via this form.
We are looking for improvements and new ideas!
Often it seems that the organizers lose focus for the essentials of a conference. For us, it has always been important to connect the right people in the right environment. Everything we do revolves around that idea. This helps us not to lose focus for what is important to you. We want to build an honest and sincere relationship with you so we can be the conference you love.
