Masterclass: ePA & TI-Messenger – From a Regulatory Requirement to Real Added Value for Health Insurers
The electronic health record (ePA) and the TI Messenger (TIM) are fundamentally transforming communication and data exchange in the healthcare sector. For both public and private health insurers, this presents new opportunities as well as specific challenges regarding customer benefits, processes, services, and integration into existing healthcare ecosystems. While the focus in 2025 was on involving insured individuals, 2026 will see deeper integration—including direct communication between insured individuals and their health insurance providers via the TI Messenger.
In this interactive masterclass, Dr. Cornelia Kolb from Awesome Technologies and experts from msg will shed light on the latest developments surrounding ePA and TIM—from the three versions of the TI Messenger, including TI-M Connect for integrating in-house and third-party services, to value-added services based on the ePA. Together, we’ll discuss the strategic and operational opportunities for health insurers and how regulatory requirements can be turned into tangible benefits for policyholders.
The focus is on the exchange of experiences among participants, the development of practical use cases, and the joint creation of a roadmap for health insurers. Following brief technical presentations, participants will work together on selected use cases. The goal is for participants to leave the masterclass with concrete ideas, prioritized use cases, and initial recommendations for action that can be implemented immediately within their own organizations.
Outcome of the master class:
Together, we will develop a practical outcome document that outlines prioritized areas of action, use cases, and recommendations for the successful implementation of ePA and TIM in the insurance sector—organized according to the levels of “fulfilling obligations,” “creating added value,” and “opening the platform.”.
