START-UPS & SCALE-UPS
SOLVE CHALLENGES. DEVELOP PARTNERSHIPS. GROW IN THE INSURANCE MARKET.
The insurance industry faces a wide range of technological, strategic, and operational challenges. Consequently, there is a significant need for solutions that address specific use cases and can be implemented within the respective operational frameworks.
Start-ups and scale-ups bring new technologies, business models, and expertise to the market. For this to lead to a successful collaboration, the solution, level of maturity, and specific need must align. InsurLab Germany addresses the real needs of its insurance industry members, identifies relevant solutions, and explores potential areas of collaboration. This gives insurers access to suitable startups and scale-ups. For these companies, this creates concrete areas of application, qualified contacts, and opportunities for collaboration and growth.

How Relevant Solutions and Specific Needs Come Together
Our work is based on real-world questions and requirements from insurance companies. As part of our Venture Clienting for Insurance We specifically seek out startups and scale-ups whose solutions are a good fit in terms of subject matter, technology, and level of maturity.
Assess needs
We address specific, real-world challenges faced by our insurance members and determine what solutions and expertise are needed.
Classify Solutions
We examine a solution's use cases, maturity level, and potential applications, and assess how well it aligns with the respective business and technological requirements.
Bringing Companies Together
When a need and a solution align, we establish contacts with the relevant departments and support the development of a potential collaboration.
Do you have a solution for a specific challenge facing the insurance industry? Tell us about it. We’ll evaluate its relevance to our insurance members and consider adding it to the InnovationMap.
From Classification to Collaboration
Orientation: Assessing Needs and Fit
We identify the specific needs and requirements of our insurance members and explore solutions within that context. In this way, we help startups and scale-ups identify relevant areas of application and realistic points of connection.
Competency: Facilitating Exchange and Experimentation
When a solution matches a need, we bring the relevant stakeholders together and create a structured framework for further discussion. Within this framework, both sides can define their requirements in concrete terms, align their expectations, and explore possible forms of collaboration.
Impact: Support cooperation and scaling
We facilitate the initiation of potential partnerships and create avenues through which relevant solutions can be tested, implemented, and scaled up further. The participating companies decide how the collaboration will be structured and carried out.

From the match to working together on the use case:
The InsurLab Germany Collaborator Program
The Collaborator program is aimed at startups and scale-ups with a proven solution that addresses specific challenges faced by insurance companies. During the selection process, chosen companies get to know the insurance members of InsurLab Germany. If at least one insurer expresses interest in a collaboration, the startup or scale-up becomes part of the final cohort.
During the six-month program, both parties work together on a specific use case. The collaborator focuses on this collaboration and is not required to attend any mandatory workshops. The exchange of expertise and resources can lead to a proof of concept or a long-term partnership.
Industry Access: These insurers are part of InsurLab Germany
Our insurance members bring a variety of business models, lines of business, company sizes, and regional focuses to InsurLab. This creates a wide range of opportunities for solutions across the entire insurance value chain.
