Axel Eppenstein, Transformation Manager Digitalization in the IT department at R+V Versicherung

Together with Miss Moneypenny Technologies, R+V began providing digital insurance cards for customers' smartphone wallets back in 2019 (Collaborator Batch #19). The card complements the physical policy and offers users direct access to up-to-date contract data, important insurance information and personalized updates.

Together with DC Connected, R+V is now enhancing the digital car insurance card with a service. If customers have a technical problem - a warning light comes on, a breakdown or an accident - they can reach „JOY“, the virtual technician from DC Connected, via a link on the digital car insurance card. You can now describe your situation via chatbot and JOY will help. JOY explains what warning lights that light up mean, gives tips on what to do - for example, whether and how far it is possible to continue driving - and provides support in the event of a breakdown. This guarantees a seamless customer experience.

The collaboration, which was presented at the InsurLab Collaborator Demo Day 2024, underlines the potential of digital technologies to make everyday insurance life more modern and customer-friendly. The concept shows how sophisticated digital solutions can not only optimize service, but also set new standards in the field of motor insurance.
