Webinar: Scaling AI – From Pilot to Performance Along the Insurance Value Chain #2
Additional Practical Insights from the InsurLab Germany Anthology
Following the first webinar on our Anthology: „Scaling AI: From Pilot to Performance Along the Insurance Value Chain“ Let's move on to the next round. In the follow-up webinar, we'll explore additional articles from the publication and delve deeper into specific aspects of scaling AI: from a realistic understanding of AI to acceptance and its effective application in the insurance industry.
The focus will be on additional perspectives from the anthology that were not addressed—or were only briefly touched upon—in the first webinar. Together, we will discuss which assumptions about AI are helpful, where myths obscure the path to meaningful application, and what lessons can be drawn from this for scaling AI in insurance companies.
To start things off, he arranges Prof. Dr. Michaele Völler from the Institute for Insurance Studies (ivwCologne) The TH Köln debunks common myths about AI and explains why a realistic understanding of artificial intelligence is essential for its acceptance and meaningful use. It becomes clear that AI does not make humans obsolete, is not the same as generative AI, and does not automatically mean full automation.
Next, it highlights Robert Ruf of SAS the use of AI in pricing and highlights the opportunities that synthetic data, machine learning methods, and AI agents open up for product development, cost calculation, and operational decision-making processes.
In closing, it shows Martin Schmidt-Schön, Chief Digital Business Officer at DA Direkt, how AI is used as part of the AI-First approach throughout the customer journey: from quick use cases with measurable impact to agentic AI in marketing and sales.
Afterward, there will be time for questions, discussion, and an exchange with the community.
