Women in Leadership – Navigating Transformation, Innovation, and the Future of the Insurance Industry

Working together to break down barriers, harness synergies, and amplify women’s voices in the industry—to foster greater diversity and drive innovation

With our Women's Meetup Leaders from the insurance industry will be attending in a relaxed brunch atmosphere together. Sharing a meal creates an opportunity for open discussion, new perspectives, and in-depth conversations, which are then continued in a more focused manner.

The meetup focuses on networking, synergy, and collaboration—with the goal of amplifying women’s voices in the industry and working together to drive innovation for the future. Topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Modern Leadership, and Digital Collaboration was addressed in order to provide participants with practical guidance and concrete options for action.

What's in it for me:

– Sharing experiences: Share career paths, best practices, and lessons learned from real-world experience to increase the presence and visibility of women in the insurance industry.
– Setting the tone: Discuss strategies for modern leadership, female leadership, and the use of AI, and apply them to your own company.
– Overcoming challenges: Work together to develop solutions for gender-specific barriers and new challenges arising from technological advancements.
– Strengthen the network: Targeted networking with female experts and designers from various companies to foster synergies and long-term collaborations.

Strategic Focus:

The Meetup helps participants, ability to win – through practical insights, concrete tools, and new ideas that can be directly applied to one’s own leadership work and collaboration within the company.

Target group: Women in leadership positions in the insurance industry

About the speakers:

Dr. Andrea van Aubel (Member of the Supervisory Board and former member of the Executive Board at msg) and Katharina Stecher (Chairwoman of the GVV Board) will kick off the day’s program. Together, they use current statistics to illustrate where the insurance industry stands on the topic of „women in leadership positions“ and discuss with the participants the reasons behind this and what measures need to be implemented to further improve the quotas. The discussion will focus on unconscious bias, work-life balance, and women’s confidence in their own abilities.

Jana Budde-Genster and Sandra Niestradt-Budde (Podcasters, agency owners, and insurance experts): Two generations, two perspectives—one shared leadership philosophy. In their presentation, Sandra and Jana discuss their experiences regarding women in leadership roles in the insurance industry, the balancing act between traditional gender roles, responsibility, and change, as well as how modern leadership can succeed across generations.

Ute Geishauser (Systemic Consultant, Business & Resilience Coach): Family and Social Readiness as a Key Factor in the Reboarding Process. While the insurance industry invests a great deal of energy in onboarding, reboarding is often neglected—especially in sales—with noticeable consequences for productivity, retention, and motivation. Ute Geishauser explains why returning to work is a unique, individual process (e.g., after parental leave, illness, caregiving, a sabbatical, or further education)—and how HR and leadership can structure reboarding early on so that returning employees are quickly and effectively back on board, even in leadership roles.
