Job Description:
At InsurLab Germany, the leading initiative for transformation and innovation in the insurance industry, you’ll be working at the heart of a unique ecosystem. In this role, you’ll be our creative jack-of-all-trades: You’ll create and distribute engaging content for our digital and print channels and bring our diverse events to life through clever marketing.
Your areas of responsibility:
In this role, you will take on a wide range of responsibilities at the intersection of editorial, design, marketing, and event management.
Event Experience:
- Event Preparation: You’ll create and design the main registration and information pages for our events (e.g., in WordPress), enter all relevant information there (speakers, agenda), keep the event pages up to date as changes occur, and write engaging teaser and invitation texts (e.g., for email campaigns in HubSpot).
- Event Marketing: You’ll further develop our value propositions and create creative highlights for our participants—from the initial idea to the implementation of special campaigns and physical materials (such as printed tote bags or event giveaways).
- Participant Services & Organizational Support: You'll assist with digital registration workflows and handle professional communication with participants. On-site, you'll actively pitch in with the team to help prepare for (e.g., creating name tags) and run the events.
Marketing Communications:
- Social Media & Content: You will be independently responsible for managing our social media editorial calendar (LinkedIn and Instagram) and creating content tailored to each platform. You will also independently write editorial content such as blog posts, interviews, and guest posts for our communication channels.
- Newsletter Management: You will plan, design, and send out our regular newsletter and help us implement new, target-audience-specific formats for our ecosystem.
- Website Maintenance: You’ll keep our digital flagship fresh by independently adding new members, publishing the latest news and blog posts on time, and keeping an eye on the „big picture.“.
- Graphics & Brand Materials: You’ll turn content ideas into engaging visual assets, such as infographics, for our channels. You’ll also optimize our key presentations (pitch decks) and marketing materials (brochures, flyers, etc.) and help oversee the production of our general brand merchandise (such as hoodies, socks, etc.).
What you should bring with you:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program (ideally starting in the 3rd semester) in journalism, editorial studies, public relations, media/communication studies, marketing, or a comparable communication-focused field of study.
- Excellent written and spoken German and good written and spoken English. You are extremely articulate, have a strong feel for language, enjoy writing, and can explain complex topics clearly and concisely.
- Digital Literacy & AI Tools: You make smart use of modern AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Midjourney, etc.) to streamline your daily work and as creative sparring partners in your work process.
- Any prior experience with HubSpot, content management systems such as WordPress, and social media platforms is a major plus.
- A Knack for Layout & Design: You have a good eye for image composition, aesthetics, and corporate design. You enjoy using intuitive graphic design tools (such as Canva) or Adobe Creative Cloud to create visual assets.
- Video production is not new to you; ideally, you already have experience in audio and video editing.
- You have your own ideas, are dedicated, and are a true team player.
What we offer:
- The perfect, innovation-driven platform for putting your passion for communication and marketing to work directly on real projects (both digital and physical).
- The opportunity to work independently and have room to contribute your own ideas as part of a small team with quick decision-making processes.
- Thorough Training: We won't throw you in at the deep end. You'll receive structured training on our tools (such as WordPress or newsletter systems) and workflows, so you can quickly gain confidence.
- Direct access to a strong network of insurers, tech companies, startups, and consulting firms—an ideal foundation for launching your career after graduation.
- Flexible work hours (16–20 hours per week; may be extended during semester breaks).
- Fair compensation in line with market rates.
- Location: Cologne—in the heart of downtown, near the cathedral, and with excellent public transportation access. You can expect modern, bright office spaces with plenty of room for collaboration, creativity, and teamwork.
