Another member of our campus is +Simple. The startup moved to our campus in October 2019 and has a FIXDESK Workplace. Germain Gramaize tells us in an interview who +Simple is and what they do.
Founded in France in 2015, startup +Simple is an insurtech scale-up specializing in insurance distribution for professionals and small businesses. With €12 million and 30,000 customers in its home market, the company is now expanding to Germany and launched its first platform in September 2019.

What does +Simple do? Where is your focus?
Germain: SMEs and the self-employed have a hard time with professional insurance. Existing insurance players struggle with small businesses because their policy administration costs are high. +Simple revolutionizes insurance for SMEs.
Smaller professionals can be targeted as their trade (bakers, cab drivers, lawyers). We offer a white-label platform for conversion and management that provides a low cost ratio and an excellent customer experience. This allows existing players to expand their books to lower segments or focus on new audiences.

What do you offer your target group?
Germain: +Simple is the technical solution that the industry needs to address its small commercial insurance. Our platform allows our partners to cross-sell their customers and transfer their books at high cost ratios. We enable them to leverage their connection to trade associations and affinity partnerships to reduce acquisition costs.

What is it like to interact in the German market?
Germain: The German market is similar to other mature European markets, with cumbersome legacy systems, distribution organized in product silos, and a poor customer experience. Thanks to European regulation, implementing our model was easy, as we developed our solution in less than 3 months.
What do you expect from 2020?
Germain: 2019 was about entering the market with a unique platform. 2020 is the year of scaling existing partnerships and developing new ones!
How did you come to the InsurLab Campus?
Germain: InsurLab appealed to us early on in our exploration of the German market. The variety of events and central positioning in the local insurance ecosystem make it the ideal place to put networking on the map.

What makes the campus "special" for you, what can you "recommend" to others?
Germain: The campus is a melting pot where every type of player in the insurance industry has something to offer. It is a crossroads where startups can expand their network and look for opportunities!
